Nevaeh Monuteaux

Nevaeh Monuteaux is a Boise-based artist specializing in Art Jewelry and Metalsmithing. She earned her BFA in Visual Arts from Boise State University, and now works primarily out of her home studio. Creating much of her work by hand, Nevaeh blends traditional metalworking with a variety of other media to better express her ideas.

Nevaeh’s practice centers around the concept of memento mori, exploring the fragility of life and reminding viewers that all forms of mortal sustenance — possessions, status, wealth, and even religion — ultimately prove powerless. Her work serves as a striking reminder that death is a profound equalizer among all living beings.

Raised in Covington, Washington, Nevaeh developed a deep reverence for nature at an early age. Spending summers at her grandparents’ farm, she witnessed the natural cycles of birth, life, and death firsthand — experiences that left a lasting imprint and continue to influence the imagery and themes present in her work.

Having once struggled with a deep fear of death and the unknown that it brings, Nevaeh now seeks to offer a different perspective through her art. She invites viewers to reconsider death not as an end to fear, but as a natural and essential chapter in the ongoing story of life.
